The hand signal know as the Sign of the Horns was used by the Buddha to protect against evil spirits and remove negative thoughts and influences. In Mediterranean cultures it represented supernatural powers of protection and was used to ward off bad luck. More recently, it has become an enduring symbol of heavy metal and rock n’ roll.
